RSO or “Rick Simpson Oil” is a method of extracting the cannabinoids from the cannabis plant that was popularized by a retired Canadian Engineer named Rick Simpson. Rick treated his own skin cancers and head injury using this oil and went on to help thousands of others by personally growing and making oil for patients with all kinds of conditions. You can watch a very informative video on Rick and the oil called “Run From The Cure” which can be watched on Netflix and at www.pheonixtears.ca.
Lebeau & Joe’s had heard about Rick Simpson and through a quick chain of events got to try RSO and soon realized its healing potentials. He then taok the high CBD Cannabis (hemp) plants he was helping to grow on the farm and created the first batch of CBD RSO that is now used in Lebeau & Joes products!
What is so special and wonderful about Lebeau & Joe’s CBD RSO?
CBD RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) and FECO (Full Extract Cannabis Oil) are potent forms of concentrated cannabis extracts that contain high levels of cannabinoids, including CBD (cannabidiol). These extracts are made using a specific extraction method that captures a wide range of beneficial compounds from the cannabis plant, offering a more comprehensive and potent experience compared to other CBD products.
One of the key concepts associated with CBD RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) and FECO (Full Extract Cannabis Oil) is the entourage effect. The entourage effect refers to the synergistic interaction of various compounds present in the cannabis plant, including cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plant components. When these compounds work together, they may enhance and amplify the therapeutic potential of CBD and other cannabinoids.
The entourage effect suggests that the combination of multiple compounds, rather than isolated CBD alone, can result in more substantial and effective outcomes. Here are some benefits associated with CBD RSO and FECO in comparison to further refined CBD oils:
-
Broad Spectrum of Cannabinoids: CBD RSO and FECO retain a broad spectrum of cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, including CBD, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBG (cannabigerol), and others. Each cannabinoid has unique properties and potential benefits. The presence of multiple cannabinoids may complement and enhance their individual effects, offering a more comprehensive and balanced CBD experience.
-
Enhanced Terpene Profile: Terpenes are aromatic compounds found in various plants, including cannabis. They contribute to the distinctive aroma and flavor profiles of different strains. CBD RSO and FECO retain a more diverse range of terpenes compared to further refined CBD oils. Terpenes not only provide aromatic and flavor characteristics but may also interact synergistically with cannabinoids, potentially influencing the overall therapeutic effects.
-
Additional Plant Components: CBD RSO and FECO may contain other beneficial plant components such as flavonoids, fatty acids, and vitamins. These compounds can have their own therapeutic properties and contribute to the overall entourage effect.
-
Potential Therapeutic Benefits: The entourage effect suggests that the combined presence of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other compounds may enhance the potential therapeutic benefits of CBD. This includes potential effects such as pain relief, anti-inflammatory properties, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and support for overall well-being.
While further refined CBD oils, such as isolate or broad-spectrum CBD, can also offer benefits, CBD RSO and FECO provide a more comprehensive and synergistic experience due to the entourage effect. However, it's important to note that CBD RSO and FECO may contain higher levels of THC compared to further refined CBD oils, which could have legal implications in some regions or cause psychoactive effects.
To create CBD RSO or FECO, the extraction process typically involves the use of a solvent, such as ethanol or CO2, to separate the desired compounds from the plant material. Here is a general overview of the process:
-
Harvesting and Drying: High-quality cannabis plants, typically rich in CBD, are harvested and carefully dried to remove excess moisture.
-
Extraction: The dried plant material is then soaked or soaked and agitated in a solvent, allowing the solvent to dissolve the cannabinoids and other desirable compounds. This process extracts a broad spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other plant components.
-
Filtering: After extraction, the liquid solution is filtered to remove any remaining plant material or impurities, resulting in a cleaner and more concentrated extract.
-
Evaporation: The filtered solution is then heated to evaporate the solvent, leaving behind a thick, dark, and highly concentrated oil.
CBD RSO and FECO are typically consumed orally, either sublingually (under the tongue) or mixed with food or beverages. Due to their high potency, it's advisable to start with small doses and gradually increase until the desired effects are achieved.
It's important to note that the creation of CBD RSO and FECO should be done by experienced and knowledgeable individuals or reputable manufacturers to ensure safety and quality. Additionally, it's crucial to understand the legal regulations regarding cannabis and CBD in your jurisdiction before purchasing or using these extracts.
CBD RSO and FECO offer a robust and concentrated CBD experience, allowing users to benefit from the potential therapeutic effects of the cannabis plant in a more potent and comprehensive way.
